Criminal Case

Nav-Images

1. Overview

In a complex criminal case, our client faced multiple serious charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon, intimidating a witness, and several firearm-related offenses. The charges originated from a disgruntled roommate's allegations and a subsequent 911 call.

2. Problem

Our client was accused of severe crimes based on the testimony of a roommate and faced the potential for significant legal penalties. The police charged our client with all offenses found in the apartment, despite the firearm and drugs being located in a different roommate's room.

3. Process

Our defense team challenged the legality of the police entry into the building, arguing the lack of proper investigative work. This led to a motion to suppress the disgruntled roommate's authority, which was allowed. Consequently, all firearm and drug-related charges were suppressed due to the exclusion of key evidence.

4. Solution

With the firearm and drug charges dismissed, the case proceeded to trial on the remaining charges. During the trial, the alleged victim invoked their Fifth Amendment privilege, leading to the ultimate dismissal of the case.

5. Result

Through diligent legal strategy and a strong defense, we achieved a favorable outcome for our client. The suppression of crucial evidence led to the dismissal of the firearm and drug charges, and the remaining charges were ultimately dismissed at trial. Our client was spared from the severe consequences of these allegations, allowing them to move forward with their life without a criminal conviction.
